We probably don’t have to explain to you anymore why Tesla is at the top of the electric vehicle world. The company is a pioneer in the development of electric cars and charging networks. But consumers now have more choice than ever.
It certainly can’t hurt to take a closer look. Due to all the technical gadgets, Tesla electric cars are terribly expensive. There are many alternatives that offer almost the same features and are therefore a great competition for Tesla.
5 alternatives to a Tesla electric car
The electric vehicle market has much more to offer than just Tesla models. These five electric cars from renowned manufacturers are just as cool.
#1 Hyundai IONIQ 5
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is a vehicle that has been talked about a lot in recent years. The electric car, priced at €48,295, is relatively affordable and offers great features. The style is fresh, unique, and a perfect fit for your favorite sci-fi movie.
Thanks to the autonomy of a minimum of 375 kilometers and a maximum of 481 kilometers, you will be able to take road trips for hours. Our editors once called the loniq 5 a Tesla-Killer. Because the IONIQ 5 can charge almost as fast, if not faster, than a Tesla. With a maximum charging capacity of 232 kWh, the electric car is charged in no time.
#2 Ford Mustang Mach-E
The Mustang is undoubtedly the most iconic model of the Ford automaker. And therefore also a great competitor for Tesla. The Mach-E is available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive with equipment options capable of generating 480 horsepower at the highest level. This translates to a 0-60mph time of just 3.5 seconds!
But the Mach-E isn’t just about power. The beautifully decorated interior and the complement of technical features are equally impressive. Tidy dashboard and vertical touch screen can control and adjust almost all systems in the car. The rest of the interior is elegant and extremely comfortable.
#3 Volkswagen ID.4 electric car
With the ID.4, Volkswagen brought the electric family car into the middle class. The relatively affordable price gives you a spacious interior, advanced technology, and a comfortable ride.
The electric car has a range of up to 520 kilometers, which makes it an excellent option for daily use. The vehicle charges ultra-fast, comparable to Tesla speeds. The battery can reach 38 percent of its capacity in just 80 minutes. All this makes it a very practical electric vehicle, which will make many families happy for years to come.
The Kia EV6 is the sister vehicle to the Hyundai IONIQ 5. The electric car is therefore a good option if you want to enjoy the benefits of the IONIQ 5, but are not a fan of design.
The EV6 is a bit more conventional, and it’s a bit lower and sportier. This is also reflected in the suspension (which is a bit stiffer) and more responsive. The EV is offered in different versions and there are two battery packs to choose from: 58 kWh or 77.4 kWh.
#5 Chevrolet Bolt EUV
The Bolt EUV isn’t exactly a state-of-the-art electric vehicle, but it offers comfortable driving comfort at a fairly affordable price. The electric car is an improvement in size over its predecessor, the Bolt EV, and is a welcome addition to Chevrolet’s lineup of electric vehicles.
The engines deliver 200 hp and a range of 417 kilometers, which is surprisingly long for an affordable EV. Also, charging the car is a piece of cake. After 30 minutes connected to a DC fast charging station, the Bolt can travel 100 miles.
The government gives money for your electric car, but what exactly?
