Real Madrid lost at home against Villarreal. The visitors fell behind twice, but triumphed 3-2. Real Madrid is therefore 12 points behind leaders Barcelona, who still have to play this matchday.
Earlier in the week, Real Madrid beat Barcelona in a big way (0-4) and thus qualified for the final of the battle for the Spanish Cup. The club will play Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Barcelona will play Girona in La Liga on Monday and can run more.

After two consecutive defeats in the French league, Paris Saint-Germain has won again. In Nice, the leader with many world stars made it 2-0. Thus, the difference with the pursuer Lens increased to 6 points.
After ‘less’ half an hour, Lionel Messi gave PSG the lead. The Argentine, recently somewhat controversial in and around Paris, deftly finished off from close range, following a cross from Nuno Mendes. Sergio Ramos made it 0-2 about fifteen minutes before the end, when he headed after a corner kick from Messi.
Former PSV player Pablo Rosario came on for Nice midway through the second half. Lens had already beaten RC Strasbourg on Friday.
Lazio has established itself in second place in the Italian soccer league. Coach Maurizio Sarri’s team went too strong 2-1 in the top game against Juventus. It was Lazio’s third consecutive victory in Serie A.
Lazio, which was knocked out of the Conference League by AZ last month, is 16 points behind defending champions Napoli and 5 points ahead of AS Roma. The rival, Feyenoord’s opponent in the Europa League quarterfinals on Thursday, defeated Torino this Saturday (0-1).
Juventus remains in seventh place due to the loss.
In the Belgian soccer league, Union failed to match league leaders RC Genk. Coach Karel Geraerts’s team took the lead in the away game against AA Gent after 1 minute thanks to Ivorian midfielder Lazare Amani. Gent took the lead in the 80th minute thanks to a penalty taken by Hugo Cuypers.
The Dutchman Bart Nieuwkoop had a basic site at the Union. Oussama El Azzouzi came on after the break.
Genk can further outplay Union on Sunday. The leader will visit the Standard de Liège.
